Overview
One might describe Sundy House as a bed-and-breakfast, yet this historic 1902 inn is so much more. Nestled in a private one-acre garden with 500 species of plants, the charming getaway is housed in a two-story Victorian-style structure that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's a short stroll from Delray Beach's boutiques and restaurants and a quick shuttle ride from the beach.
Every room is individually appointed; the six in the Stable Building have equestrian themes. Honeymoon in the cottage, where you'll find a fireplace in the living room and a private Jacuzzi. Wherever you lodge, you'll receive continental breakfast and a newspaper daily. Dine on globally inspired fare at the renowned Sundy House Restaurant and enjoy cocktails at the contemporary Roux Bamboux Lounge. And with Wi-Fi throughout, keeping in touch is a snap.
ROOMS 11 rooms, suites and cottages
CEREMONIES Exchange rings in a latticed white gazebo, where up to 50 can observe standing. An acre of lush foliage and waterfalls completes the scene. Or recite your vows on the lawn (seats 140) beside the freshwater swimming pond full of tropical fish.
RECEPTIONS You and your party will be spoiled with every luxury in the intimate Galleria Room, where works of art surround up to 40 people. Equally indulgent are the Fresco and Mediterranean rooms, which accommodate 56 and 90, respectively, and boast garden and stream views.
LOCAL COLOR Spend leisurely afternoons exploring the on-site Taru Gardens - swimming in Florida's only hotel freshwater swimming pond, snuggling in private gazebos, and exploring more than 500 varieties of plants and flowers.
