Bonnier Transforms its Market Event into a Media Happening!
WINTER PARK, FL (October 7, 2010) – This year, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons magazine made a commitment to raise the bar and take its prominent "Celebrate Romance, A Media and Market” event to a whole new level with the help of the highly-regarded Nike Communications, Inc., its new agency of record. On the heels of this fall’s event, Bonnier’s Destination Weddings & Honeymoons is pleased to report the magazine has more than delivered on its promise to up the ante. With an increased number of high profile journalists in attendance this year including KNBC-LA and E! Entertainment News, as well as local broadcast opportunities secured around the event, this year's "Celebrate Romance" event was the most successful, exciting and high-profile to date.
Reaching 80 markets across the United States, NBC affiliate KNBC-LA broadcasted a live segment from the event discussing the rapidly growing destination weddings and honeymoons industry. The event’s presenting sponsor Mexico Tourism Board was at the forefront of the segment, spotlighting Carmen Laborin, Director of Romance for Mexico, discussing the latest trends in weddings, honeymoons and romantic travel destinations. The live interview with the presenting sponsor’s spokesperson offered exceptional value and visibility for the Mexico Tourism Board. Additionally, the segment provided great play for several of the sponsors as the camera panned a number of their exhibition booths. There was also great messaging about the growth of destination weddings as the segment highlighted that destination weddings have become so popular there is now a magazine, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, dedicated solely to serving this growing industry.
The highly-regarded E! Entertainment News was secured with another angle by capitalizing on the celebrity and LA market as all sponsors were open to discussing their celebrity fans and guests. Between TV shows like “The Bachelor”/”The Bachelorette” and the exclusive looks at celebrity weddings and honeymoons that dominate the newsstands, society loves hearing about who’s throwing the hottest wedding of the year. By highlighting destinations showcased at the event that are loved by celebrities, Nike is working on an upcoming segment with E! Entertainment News that will focus on the hottest celebrity wedding and honeymoon destinations. The segment is expected to air shortly.
