Wedding of the Week – Nicole and Marc
March 3rd, 2009
by Rebecca
Nicole and Marc Chibnik always knew they wanted to get married in Italy and once they decided on the Tuscany region, it was only a question of where. They scouted villas prior to the big day but nothing could accommodate what they needed. One rainy afternoon, they were wandering the streets of Montalcino and decided to inquire in a local real estate office. They were told to check out Castello Di Velona as a venue option, and it ended up being the perfect choice.
The entire event was centered around what the region is best known for – food and wine. Their rehearsal dinner consisted of an Italian feast and 50 bottles of Silvio Nardi’s Rosso Di Montalcino (yes, they finished them all). Brunello di Montalcino was the drink of choice for the wedding reception: each of the 9 tables had a different variety of the wine and guests were encouraged to try each one. After dancing until 3 AM, everyone munched out on big bowls of pasta with red sauce.
How cute are these wedding invitations? They were designed to look like travel tickets and presented in small vintage suitcases. The case included an itinerary with activities and travel information.

It’s been a week since I returned from the paradisiacal Laucala Island and while physically I’m at my desk at work, mentally I’m still sitting in my villa’s plunge pool and gazing at the ocean.
I spent the last three days at the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.
