It must be the holidays, as another celebrity couple has just announced their engagement — congrats to Prince William and his longtime love Kate Middleton!

The big talk in the news is The Ring: an oval sapphire surrounded by diamonds that Prince Charles once gave to Princess Diana. But of course, we at DWH are more stoked about his globetrotting proposal in October — on a 10-day safari in Kenya. “Africa is my second home,” the groom-to-be told People. He is heavily involved in the Tusk Trust, a wildlife-conservation organization, and he also supports schools in Uganda, among other projects.

The big day is slated to take place in the spring or summer of 2011, and it’s likely to be a hometown blowout rivaling the wedding of Charles and Diana.

Once it’s all over, we’re sure the royal newlyweds will be more than ready for a far-flung honeymoon — though Africa is hard to top!
