On our bridal fashion shoot in New Orleans last week, we were in search of a florist that would not only be able to accommodate the clean, hipster look we were going for, but throw in some unexpected creative touches too. Luckily, we found Urban Earth Studios, located in the heart of New Orleans.
The evening before our first day of shooting, we were pleasantly surprised to find three bouquets in shades of sherbet lime, orange and pink waiting for us in the Hotel Monteleone lobby. And while every girl likes a rose, I loved the fact that Roland (one of the owners and obviously a master at creating stunning bouquets) opted to use fuchsia peonies, burgundy lace flowers, bear grass, lily grass and St. John’s Wart instead — such a fun touch.

But flowers aren’t the shop’s only forte. They also can coordinate wedding and social events, making it easy for any New Orleans-bound bride-to-be to get the majority of her planning done all at once — leaving more time for exploring the French Quarter and nibbling on warm beignets, definitely NOLA must-do’s.![]()

I’ve been working like crazy to prepare for my upcoming vacay to Sin City next week. It’s my little sis’ 21st birthday, so my family and I will be celebrating in style.
Yesterday I went on a hard-hat tour of an exciting new property under construction right here in my hometown — the Waldorf=Astoria Orlando and the Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, surrounded on three sides by Walt Disney World.
Destination-wedding events are getting longer (so you need more clothes), airline restrictions are getting tighter (so you can’t bring more clothes) and budgets are getting smaller (so overpriced laundry service is out). That’s why I love the travel-sized packets of no-rinse, hand-wash detergent from Soak.
