For our upcoming November/December issue (on stands 10/19/2010) we’re featuring a Honeymoon piece on “Trips of a Lifetime.” So in the name of research, I’m heading to China — a country I never thought I’d see and definitely a trip of a lifetime!

And I’m doing it in style: with a Uniworld river cruise down the Yangtze River — a landmark loaded with history, legend and lore. Plus, my itinerary includes stops to the Great Wall of China, Ming Tombs and Beijing Opera. So as you can imagine, saying I’m stoked is an understatement.

Honeymoon Memories: U.S. Virgin Islands

Four years ago on this day, I was on my honeymoon in St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Though I’ve been around the world as a travel writer since then, I still think it was the perfect place for me and my hubby. We’re both nature lovers, but we still had to make a compromise — he wanted hiking trails, and I wanted unspoiled beaches. St. John had both — and plenty more.
