Celebrity Wedding Weekend: Madden Puts a Ring on It
December 15th, 2010
by Reagan Johnson
Congratulations to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden for their long-awaited wedding this weekend! Alas, it wasn’t destination affair, but hey – why go away when you have dad Lionel Richie’s sprawling Beverly Hills estate at your disposal?
The winter-themed event was planned by celebrity planner extraordinaire Mindy Weiss (also part of the DWH A-List). Fresh from planning Katy Perry’s lavish October nuptials to Russell Brand in India, Weiss brought back a few Eastern influences for the Richie-Madden event, including an elephant named Tai. (Do we sense a new trend for 2011?)
Insiders report that the Rev. Run of Run-DMC fame officiated the ceremony, and the couple’s two children – Harlow, 2, and Sparrow, 15 months – were a part of the festivities as well. The bidding war for wedding photos is already well under way, so stay tuned – we can’t wait to see pictures of Richie in her custom-made Marchesa gown!
